The Articles of Confederation was the very first constitution between all thirteen states. It was drafted under the second Continental Congress and ratified in 1777. The Articles of Confederation covers many essential subjects including military, voting, and the rights of individual states. The article specifically covers how each of the individual states shall be governed and how that governing ties in at the national level.
